Barnsley FC 1
Ipswich Town 1

Dawson 73

Cresswell 6

Following on from the magnificent performance at Birmingham City, it ended in a draw at Oakwell, which keeps the unbeaten home run going. Following a poor first half showing, the Tykes got the equaliser from a Stephen Dawson volley on 73 minutes.

The Tractor boys set out to frustrate and they did just that in the first half as we failed to find the same style of play that bagged five at Birmingham, and the away side took an early lead through Cresswell on 6 minutes. They took the lead with a freekick that looked easy to deal with for Alnwick, but it managed to find its way into the back of the net, and Ipswich who were looking for their first win in six looked as though they might just hold on, until Dawson lashed home the equaliser and put further pressure on Ipswich manager Jewell.

The Reds pushed hard for the equaliser, with Dagnall hitting the inside of the post as he went close for the Reds, he must be wondering what he has to do to score, after also hitting the woodwork at Birmingham amongst several other chances to score. But Stephen Dawson stepped up and secured the point with lovely volley.

Prior to this Lee Martin could have increased the lead but he fired with a good opportunity. The Reds came to life in the second half and controlled things as Craig Davies saw an effort drag wide after getting the opportunity following some good passing play from the Reds.

Later Dagnall hit his low drive that came back of the inside of the post before some more good play found Jacob Mellis who in turn sent in a sweet ball over for Dawson to hit a stylish volley with the inside of his foot to take a point from the game that sees us sitting nicely poised in 12th.
