GSP LITTER DIARY

14th April 2014- Apologies for the lack of updates, I have a video of 7 weeks which woudn't upload, but will manage... all pups have gone safely to their lovely new homes around the country... I wish them and their new families well and all the best in future life together!
They have been the largest, but also an incredibly strong litter and all beautiful, I am getting loads of updates, photos coming in from new owners showing how well they are settling into their new environments. Thankyou and keep in touch!

Here are the pups all together at 7 weeks, just before they started leaving almost one a day to their new homes.

26th March 2014- Our last beautiful dog... gentle ben... ;o) incredibly laid back (like father Gus - I have been told), and weighing in at 4.1kg at 6 weeks... not backwards at coming forwards when food is served ;o) this fella will provide a very placid male GSP for the right home.

25th March 2014- 6 weeks on from birth, another individual dose of Drontal worming due today, just filmed the weekly video... All doing really well and just one gentle giant dog left! (see video)

18th March 2014- 13 increasingly boistrous, messy but gorgeous GSP pups at 5 weeks old, video shows sleepy stage after breakfast.. with a few reluctant sleepers more intent on seeing whats going on.. very cute!

14th March 2014- Treat for the weekend a video done today at just before 4.5 weeks old... Well into food and water now, being fed four times a day, still getting milk from mum when they get the opportunity...

11th March 2014- 4 weeks today.. how time flies.. but not at the same time?! Busy busy with pups.. in what blends into one big clean up at times... second dose of Drontal due today, cunningly mixed into individual portions of goats milk.
Just done the 4 week video of the little fellas. Hope all enjoy... Like how they bark and go into alert mode when I start whistling them! ;o) Three gorgeous dogs now left only. Lovely, excellent sized puppies, having lots of interest so will go very quickly.

10th March 2014- Coming up to 4 weeks old tomorrow... some beautiful boys still available.. absolutely gorgeous...

2nd March 2014- Pups at 18 days approx. Looking lively, we have a few pups from both genders still available to quality homes... please contact us on 0779 3747716, to reserve or view this litter.

27th February 2014- Pups have had their first taste of puppy food in the last couple of days, as I start the weaning process with initially a sloppy porridge consistancy, which i will gradually make more dry over the coming weeks, until by the time they leave me for new homes, they will have been on completely dry food, this is the same food that I will supply as a complimentary 3kg bag to get you started with life at home!

26th February 2014- 13 pups just completed in the manicure dept.. curly sharp nails cut, not good for mum and comfortable feeding... also today we have administered the first dose of Drontal oral solution for worming on 2 weeks (via syringe into the mouth... this will be repeated on 4, 6, and should also be given on 8 weeks, inform your vet on first visit to your own for first puppy vaccinations, they will advise on continuing treatments, but in general this should be continued for a few a while longer.

25th February 2014- 2 weeks have now gone by, the pups are getting bigger and more puppy like by the day, with the amazing moment of seeing their blue eyes for the first time (they start off blue) and getting gradual use of their legs, with a few topples here and there.. here they are in action around 2 weeks old!

20th February 2014- All the pups are doing great one week on... got a lovely message off a previous litter puppy customer, her daughter made a lovely note... from older brother Magnus!

13th February 2014- Rolo working hard feeding this hoard of milk guzzlers, all had a really solid start to life, and all in the capable paws/teats of super mum Rolo! I am coming to the end of the daily Panacur worming treatment I started on day 40 of the pregnancy, till the suggested 2 days after birth. This also helps ensure that any nutrition the pups take in they use themselves in their healthy growth!

11th February 2014- Rolos fourth litter was born both sides of the night of 11th February, with the first arriving at 7.35pm, and what I presumed was the final (12th) puppy at approx. 6am the following morning, its always a very intensive, nerve racking yet exciting time as you wait for the puppies to emerge. Later at 11.30am I returned to the room to find a wet puppy, and wondered the reason! Did a count up and suddenly this new bitch made it 13!!
There are 7 Liver & White Bitches, and 6 Liver & White Dogs in the litter, all are a good healthy starting size, which explains why Rolo at times did resemble a beached whale! (sorry Rolo)

24th January 2014- Today we begin administering Panacur worming solution daily until two days after birth. This protects and prevents both mum and progeny from the impact of any worms. Ensuring as healthier start as possible for the puppies.
